Non Aerated Bottom Drains
A Bottom Drain is a type of drain for dirt that settled on the bottom of the pond. During the construction of the pond it must already be installed in the deepest, preferably sloped part of the pond. The pond must have at least one Bottom Drain for every 16 square feet of bottom area, and the floor of the pond must be tilted down toward the drains. For larger bottom surfaces several Bottom Drains must be placed. The Bottom Drain is connected to a drain that leads to a pump or pre filter and from there it goes to the main filter.
